The nightmarish aesthetic world of rising illustrator Eita. Eita has gained popularity mainly among students through decorative fashion illustrations featuring original characters adorned with distinctive decorations. Eita has collaborated with POPUP STORE events at Laforet Harajuku, Thank You Mart, and apparel brands, and has also worked on VTuber music videos and illustrations. Eita is also one of the representative artists of "ibisPaint," a digital illustration app widely popular among younger generations for drawing on smartphones. In addition, the culture of "Internet aesthetics," which has spread globally since around 2019, is connected to Eita's artistic style. Trends that combine various sensations into multiple aesthetics, such as dreamcore, which conveys surreal and nostalgic impressions created by dreams, fantasies, and visions of memories; Traumacore, which presents a chain of images symbolizing emotional pain and mental wounds; and liminal spaces, which evoke anxiety created by empty corridors and lobbies, have become a major international topic, and Eita's style expressing these concepts has a powerful impact. The animation "Dream Photobooth," for which Eita handles the original concept and character design, also depicts this worldview, receiving strong reactions overseas and rapidly increasing Instagram followers. This book is Eita's first art collection, featuring more than 120 illustrations created so far, along with a detailed making-of article for the cover illustration.
